After School Activities (ASAs)

After School Activities (ASAs)

After-School Activities (ASAs)

The school facilitates a varied programme of after-school curricular activities, which are held after school hours.

Activities are organised by the Parents’ Association. We run ASAs in term 1 for Senior Infants to 6th class from late September/ early October. The Junior Infant ASA programme will begin in term 2. This is to give the juniors a chance to settle into school life.

As Wednesday is a day free of after-school activities, Kids Club run Lego Club on that day. Please contact Kids Club with any queries regarding Lego Club.

Registration and payment for ASAs is done online. Details are published and links for registration go live at the start of each term. This is a new system for the academic year 2018/19. Please bear with us as we try the new format.

Any questions or comments are welcome to either

the PA (Parents Association) at:gbmdsafterschool@gmail.com

or to Eddie at: eddie.fox@griffithbarracks.ie

Thank you in advance,

GMBDS PA

After School Activities Form

After School Activities Timetable - 1st Term 2018/19

How will the online approach work?
• To register interest parents/ guardians submit an online form per child. The form link is here (or if you've problems, copy https://goo.gl/forms/Of36QNIxekU5Itsz1 into your browser).

The form is now live and will be available until Tuesday 18th September.

• The PA will allocate places (randomly if activities are over-subscribed) and let each parent know if their child has a place (by email). Art, Hurling/Camogie and Music teachers will contact parents separately.
• The PA will send an online invoice to parents (via Stripe). Payment will secure offered place. Art, Hurling/Camogie and Music teachers will deal with payments for their activities separately.
• Please keep note of times (especially finishing times) and dates of your child's activity ... and then the fun will start! :)

ASA Guidelines

1. In the event an activity is cancelled due to bad weather, we will do our best to have an extra class, but this might not always be possible.
2. Children attending any After-School Activity are under the same Code of Conduct as during school hours. Any child who is continually disruptive will be asked to leave the class.
3. MOST IMPORTANT: CHILDREN MUST BE COLLECTED ON TIME. It is unfair to the children themselves and to the ASA facilitator if they are collected after the finishing time.
