Visit from Poetry Ireland
Tony Curtis, author of P is for Poetry (from Something Beginning with P) has a new book coming out soon for children. He came to 2nd and 4th classes in our school. Some of the comments from the children from 2nd were:
- ‘Fun' (Elizabeth),
- ‘Once in a lifetime experience' (Ostap),
- ‘Everything' (Tommy)
- ‘Now I know what it feels like to be at a comedian's show' (Alex)
Tony also sang songs including Mount Eerie (it has no ears) and Hallelujah

The children in 4th class described their experience with him as:
- ‘Real fun and entertaining' (Skye),
- ‘Very funny and good at guitar'(Max),
- ‘Good singer' (Sean),
- ‘Very good poet, very interesting stuff to say' (Aedi),
- 'Funny stuff about these lads' (Greg),
- ‘Cool the way he talked about the last word in the world' (Sam K.) ,
- 'really imaginative' (Mohammed),
- ‘Great presence, got everyone involved' (Lisa Tyndall)
